About OurFencing Service.
Fencing is the perimeter of your garden — and the single most visible piece of landscaping when you look out from the house. It's a system of posts (concrete or pressure-treated timber), gravel boards to keep the panels off the wet ground, and panels or feather-edge boards to make the run itself.
It's for homeowners who want privacy, security and a clean garden boundary — and are tired of leaning panels, snapped rails or a fence line that dips halfway across the lawn.
Choose a proper fencing install when replacing storm-damaged panels, gaining privacy from a new-build overlook, or squaring off a garden as part of a wider landscaping project.
A fence is only as good as the posts. Under-depth posts, no concrete, or timber posts sunk straight into soil and it'll lean within a season. Our fencing goes in with concrete-set posts to correct depth, every panel level, every run straight to a string line.
The Failures WeGet Called To Fix.
Cutting corners on fencing shows up fast. Here's what to avoid — and what we build into every install instead.
Leaning fences after one storm
Timber posts driven into soft ground without a proper concrete collar move in the first strong wind.
Rotten posts at ground level
Timber posts without a gravel board sit in wet grass — they rot right at ground level and the fence collapses at that point.
Panels blowing out
Panels not properly clipped or nailed into the post grooves lift and break in gales.
Wavy, uneven fence line
No string line, no laser level, and the fence dips and rises across the run — it never looks right afterwards.

Why It's WorthDoing It Right.
Straight lines, level tops
Every run set to a string line and laser level — no wavy fences.
Concrete-set posts
Posts cured before panels go on — no movement, no lean.
Gravel boards on every run
Panels never sit in wet grass, so they never rot at the base.
Choice of concrete or timber
Concrete posts + gravel boards for a lifetime run; timber for a more traditional look.
Storm-rated fixings
Every panel properly secured — no missing screws, no loose panels.
10-year workmanship guarantee
In writing — every panel, every post.
Everything We Install& How We Install It.
Materials we use
Concrete posts and gravel boards (for the longest-life runs), pressure-treated timber posts, feather-edge boards, close-board panels, waney-edge and lap panels, decorative slatted panels for feature runs. Post caps, capping rail and trellis toppers where wanted.
Our methods
Post depth to spec — typically 600mm for 6ft fencing, more for higher runs. Postcrete used and allowed to cure before any weight goes on the post. Panels clipped or fixed with rust-proof screws. Gravel boards on every run to keep the timber off wet ground. Lines checked with a laser level along the full run.
Where it applies
Fencing is a natural add-on when we're already on site doing your driveway or patio — we can co-ordinate ground works, dispose of the old materials in one skip and leave you with a matched, finished garden. Fencing is also a service we install stand-alone.
Residential vs commercial
Predominantly residential across the West Midlands — full-garden runs, boundary replacements and new-build finishing. Also small commercial and rental-property boundary work.
Variations of this service
Close-board (feather-edge) fencing
The strongest, longest-life garden fence — vertical feather-edge boards nailed to horizontal arris rails, capped with a capping rail.
Lap and waney panels
Traditional panel fencing — cost-effective and quick to install, ideal for boundary runs.
Slatted / feature panels
Modern horizontal slatted panels for architectural runs, screening and feature walls.
Gates & access
Matching pedestrian and vehicle gates hung on braced timber or steel frames.
Every fencing install is fully insured and backed for 10 years in writing. In-house crew, no sub-contracting, staged payments available.
It depends on panel style, post type (concrete vs timber) and whether an old fence needs removal. We quote free in writing within 24 hours based on the run length.

Slabbing & Patio Installation
A slabbed patio is a paved outdoor floor made from large-format concrete, natural sandstone, limestone or granite slabs, laid on a full mortar bed over a compacted sub-base and pointed with a purpose-made brush-in compound.

Sleeper Walls & Retaining Structures
A sleeper wall is a structural or decorative wall built from stacked treated timber or new/reclaimed railway sleepers, fixed to steel posts or lapped and pinned together, set on a concrete foundation. Used to hold back soil, create planters, terrace a sloped garden, or line raised beds.

Artificial Grass & Turfing
Artificial grass is a synthetic turf laid over a purpose-built base of compacted stone, sharp sand and a weed membrane, edged in timber or block, and joint-taped where two rolls meet. Done properly, it drains freely, feels like the real thing and lasts 10+ years.
